Knowledge of Construction Law
I work in all phases of the construction process, from document preparation through project completion and any resulting litigation. I provide contract drafting and negotiation, lien advice, claims preparation, and problem-solving. I have extensive experience in design, specification, and construction means and methods. I am familiar with residential, commercial, industrial, multi-family projects, and site development.
My clients are in all facets of the construction industry -- general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, sureties, owners, developers, architects, and engineers.
The construction industry is dynamic and often difficult. General contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, sureties, insurers, owners, and architects and engineers operate in a legal environment, as well as on project sites. We are in business to help all participants in the construction industry successfully navigate through the legal issues.
Comprehensive Legal Solutions
My first preference is to avoid litigation whenever possible by exploring opportunities for early resolution through mediation or informal settlement. But once litigation or arbitration becomes necessary, the goal becomes achieving the best outcome for each client.
I have substantial experience in contract negotiation and drafting. I also represent clients facing labor issues, insurance coverage denials, contractor licensing complaints, design issues, and professional negligence.
As a Florida Bar Board Certified Construction Lawyer, I have significant experience and expertise in resolving payment disputes, especially those involving Florida's construction lien and bond law. Representing construction industry participants, I practice in state and federal court, at the trial and appellate levels.
